The Everlasting Son by Helen Bishop
ARTIST NOTES: I was inspired to do this piece when I saw a photo of Lake Eyre at sunset. It had the most amazing colours that I wanted to experiment with.
Where the sun was setting in the photo I began to draw a tiny cross instead, so that it might catch the viewer’s eye and be drawn to it. But the Lord wanted me to make it larger and slightly nebulous. I only realised later that the cross is positioned behind the horizon; to me, this denotes that God is of the sky, the earth and the sea.
