Once upon a time Annette Fitton worked for MGT, Architects for New Parliament House, Canberra, studied fine furniture making at Carl Malmstens Verstadskola, Stockholm and worked as an architectural model maker for Arup Associates, London.
Now emerging from the fug of fulltime motherhood backed by an almost antique degree in Industrial Design, manual dexterity and a love of colour, Annette recycles readily available material to fulfill her passion for creative expression. Apart from designing and sewing dolls using new and recycled cotton corduroy, Annette recycles magazines to make collages and practices the extreme sport of yarn bombing in the outdoors in and around Melbourne, Australia
Through her craft based design business Nini & Wink, Annette, aka Nini, will continue to pursue her passion to design and make attractive things. She intends to expand her range from cardigans, corduroy toys and wild knitting to wall clocks, upholstered furniture and giraffe sized sculpture for gardens. |
