Peter Fennell is one of Australia’s most successful artists. His love of life and his hauntingly beautiful paintings reflect the emotion and passion he so obviously feels. “Romantic Impressionism” is Peter’s description of his painting style. This uniquely soft and delicate style enables him to approach the Australian landscape and its people with refreshing individuality. Born in Broken Hill in June 1949, Peter loved to draw and paint - even as a child. Leaving a banking career at the age of 21 he worked in the mines at Mt. Isa where the people and the harsh outback life inspired him to pursue a fulltime career in painting. At this time he traveled overseas to study the great European Masters Public acceptance of Peters work was immediate and far reaching in Australia. Collectors from all States have acquired his paintings, as have collectors from England, Saudi Arabia, Germany, France, New Zealand and United States. He has been painting professionally for over 30 years and during this time has had many successful individual and group shows and has received many prestigious art awards.
