My formal training in art began as a pupil of the Tonal Realist tradition, Graham Moore. Here I was working solely indoors and on still life subjects - a very solid grounding for my artistic future. However, a move to the Mornington Peninsula provided the abundance of light and space that living with a sea view provided. I also discovered the pastel medium at this time and gradually my work changed accordingly. I am loving the vast sky I see every day, the bay always in my view, the ocean a short drive away, as well as the bush a short walk from home. Occasionally other mediums take my attention for a short while - as well as oils I have produced works in water colours and gouache. But I always return to my lovely pastels.
