Acceptable Art Works

Acceptable Works

Paintings and photographs will be accepted subject to the normal selection process. Lino prints, Woodcuts, Etchings and Engravings are the only accepted prints. Photographs and acceptable prints must be numbered (limited edition) and signed.

Submission Mediums are: Acrylic; Oil; Charcoal; Gouache; Ink; Mixed media; Pastel; Pen & wash; Pencil; Conte and Watercolour

Non Acceptable works include ceramics, painted porcelain, sculpture, computer-generated/digital works, textiles, airbrush works, mosaics, bark arrangements, plaster relief, giclee prints and wet paintings.

No. of Works

The Artist may submit any number of works for consideration for acceptance into the Show, each artwork attracting a submission/ entry fee as shown under the Fees and Commissions Section. The Organisers reserve the right to accept up to four (4) works from any one artist. All accepted works will be displayed.

Submitted artwork should have been completed during the 10 months preceding 1st January 2025 and must be for sale at the nominated price, inclusive of GST, where applicable. The Organisers will only accept works which have not previously been exhibited at the Mornington Art Show. 

Pairs of paintings and multiple panelled paintings will be accepted as one entry. Entry fees will be calculated using the combined dimensions of the work. Individual paintings from a pair will not be sold separately.

Numbered photographs and lino prints may be entered and multiple copies sold of the print.  Each sale is subject to the charges listed under Fees and Commissions.

Size of Paintings and Photographs in the Physical Show

Submitted work must not exceed the following parameters (inclusive of framing ).

There are three (3) sizing groups for entry, each attracting a different fee.

Small:- Combined length of two adjacent sides is up to 150 cm.

Medium:- Combined length of two adjacent sides is between 150cm and 250 cm

Large:- Combined length of two adjacent sides is more than 250cm (accepted at the discretion of the Organisers).

Acceptance Fee

Acceptance of a work will attract an acceptance fee (hanging fee) depending on frame dimensions.  The acceptance fee is in addition to the submission/entry fee. This fee is not refundable. The following prices apply to works on display in the Physical show. Refer above for relevant sizes.

Small:- $12 per artwork

Medium:- $20 per artwork

Large:- $30 per artwork

Artworks displayed in the Virtual Show will also attract an acceptance fee, in addition to the submission/entry fee. If work is only entered in the Virtual Show, this fee is $5 per artwork (any size).

If however, the same painting has been accepted in the Physical Art Show, then a further acceptance fee will not apply.

All accepted works will be displayed.

The acceptance fee is not refundable.

Artists will be notified by email when their work has been accepted for hanging or display. Please ensure that your correct details are registered with Gallery 247.

Framing

Exhibits must be on durable material, and made ready for hanging (fitted with substantial hanging wire or heavy duty cord).   Flush D Hangers are those which do not protrude when paintings are stored.  Eye hooks are not acceptable as these can cause damage to other works.   Oil/acrylic paintings on canvas unframed but ready for hanging will be accepted.   

Identification

Identifying labels, supplied by the Art Show organisers, must be affixed securely to the rear of the art work.

Additional Works

Individual artists may, at the discretion of the Organisers, be invited to supply more than the maximum number.
